You know this is the eighth year that I’ve posted my resolutions on my blog? Crazy.
For those of you who are new here, this is how it works. Every year, I post my list of resolutions — things I’d like to accomplish over the course of the next 12 months. Could be things I’ve been putting off, new things I’d like to acquire or do, things I’ve resolved to do before and never done, or things I’ve done every year that I’d like to continue. I update my list every month to keep track of my success.
Anyway, here it goes.
In the year 2011, I will:
Travel more
Shop less
Learn to edit videos with Adobe Premiere
Post a video on my blog
Try out a bunch of different gyms in the area using free trials and promos
Get a digital SLR camera (and maybe a tripod)
Style a 30 for 30 for someone else
Volunteer for something
Go ice skating
Go horseback riding
Do something that inspires others (so much so that they tell me about it, so that I have some proof of accomplishing such a thing)
Do yoga
Frame my college degree
Get a massage
Get a facial
Up my monthly MMA transfer to $175 in January, then increase it to $200 in June
Refinance my condo
Attend Fashion Week in NYC
Get contacts
Get a note from my doctor, so I can still use my HSA to purchase OTC drugs
See a few good concerts
See a few good plays
Recruit some people for my Backseat Drivers Club
Read at least 10 books
Make at least five new friends
Take some kind of dancing lessons
Visit some more wineries
Stop dropping important electronic devices (like my laptop and phone), and try to be less clumsy in general
Do some freelance writing or proposal consulting (as long as it isn’t a conflict of interest w/work)
Monetize one of my blogs (preferably the other one)
Have my dented beach cruiser fender repaired
Keep my new fig tree alive
Perfect my own mocha (so I don’t have to pay $3.75 to get them at coffee shops)
Make something I can either wear or hang on my wall
Start a business (by my birthday)
Have some crazy ridiculously awesome 30th birthday bash
Drink more water
Branch out and write about subjects other than just my outfits on The Coastal Chicster
Enjoy more beach days
Go snowboarding
Go surfing
Get my back to stop hurting
Feel as healthy as I did in 2006
Run in a race
Publish something I’ve written somewhere other than my own blogs
Host another clothing swap
Live by myself
Make a new resolution every month:
January: Give up soda for an entire month
And off I go!
Do you have any resolutions this year? If so, I’d love to check them out — leave me a link in your comments!
This crazy trip has got me feelin’: motivated
And I’m singin’ along to: Dog Days Are Over – Florence + the Machine
