I can tell 2010 is going to be awesome because I kicked off the new year by having mini quiches and mimosas for breakfast with my boyfriend. If you wake up on New Year’s Day after throwing a New Year’s Eve party where you popped open eight bottles of champagne, and you’re feeling good enough to drink more champagne, well, then you’re going to have a good year. (Or at least a good day.)
As I’ve done every year for the past six years, I’m ready to post my resolutions. I can see that I often repeat several of my resolutions every year, but I think that’s good. I consider the changing of years to be sort of a “reset” button, and I strive to continue doing things that I love (or used to love, like ice skating and horseback riding and all that stuff). I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year!
In the year 2010, I will:
Keep track of my resolutions like I used to (slacker)
Play poker in Las Vegas
Party in Atlantic City
Go snowboarding
Get a raise
Save more money
Get a new car
Visit a winery or attend a wine tasting
Draw or paint a picture
Use our Kinkaid’s giftcard
Join something (like a sports league, poker league, gym, etc.)
See a few good concerts
See a few plays/musicals
Get my own Harrah’s Total Rewards card, so I don’t have to beg my dad for deals on rooms
Make a plan for what I’d like to buy/not buy as far as clothes for the year, so that I don’t go overboard shopping
Take my cats to the vet
Have my dented beach cruiser fender repaired
Visit the Outer Banks
Make some sort of major improvement to my condo (floors, counters, cabinets…something)
Make money from a source other than work
Do some research on clothing manufacturing for two reasons: (1) to understand better what I’m proposing on at work, and (2) to make more educated decisions when shopping for clothes for myself
Keep The Coastal Chicster going
Convince my parents to come see Jimmy Buffett
Go ice skating
Go horseback riding
Go to the spa
Lose at least 10 pounds so that my Diesel jeans fit again
Sell something on eBay
Get contacts
Finish reading all of KV’s books (in order)
Volunteer for something
Finish paying off my TV before my Best Buy no-interest promo runs out
Paint the rest of the ceilings in my condo
Convince First Horizon to lower the interest rate on my mortgage
Hang out with Joelle and Michelle in California
Make at least five new friends
Go on some weekend trips
Frame my college degree
Make something I can wear
Finish writing my novel? (Yeah, right.)
Go to a VT football game
See the sun rise
Up my monthly MMA transfer to $125 in January, and increase it to $150 in June
Spend a day with Kristy and the new baby once she’s born
Buy less boots (and flip-flops)
Update the LJ more
Make a new resolution every month:
January: Re-organize my Photos folder on my computer
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and don’t forget – the even years are always better. Now, go out and start shopping or something, so the economy gets better.
This crazy trip has got me feelin’: determined
And I’m singin’ along to: The New Year – Death Cab For Cutie
