Year in Review

I filled this questionnaire out in 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2003, too!

What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before? Played on a kickball team!

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I completely failed at keeping track of my resolutions this year, but I did keep a lot of them. I promise to get back on track w/my resolutions in 2010.

Did anyone close to you die? Yes. Captain Sea Jay Lewis (my fish) passed away on October 22

What countries did you visit? I visited a little bit of this one – just southern California, Las Vegas and NJ.

What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? A new car.

What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory?  June 17

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting a new job at ADS, opening an IRA, starting a new blog

What was your biggest failure? Not losing the 15 pounds I gained last year, leaving my iPod on a freaking airplane, not updating my LiveJournal.

Did you suffer illness or injury? I had a pretty bad cold or the flue or something in January or February. I definitely diagnosed myself with many rare disorders on WebMD. Don’t go on that website.

What was the best thing you bought? My new glasses with my TranSystems FSA money (because I didn’t actually pay for them), my first stock, tailgating decorations for the Jimmy Buffett concert

Whose behavior merited celebration? John’s for being the best boyfriend ever. Gabby’s and Amanda’s for helping to plan Kristy’s bridal shower and bachelorette party, and for making her wedding the best one ever. My dad’s for listening to me complain about my mortgage all the time.

Where did most of your money go? Mortgage payments, clothes, airline tickets

What did you get really, really, really excited about? My birthday, vampires, the Jimmy Buffett concert, and my trips to San Diego and Las Vegas

What do you wish you’d done less of? Working, sleeping, sitting around

How will you be spending Christmas? John and I exchanged Christmas gifts on December 22 before I flew home to NJ. I gave him a Tumi wallet, a leather watch band, a Sigg water bottle w/a betta picture on it, a Jack Black gift set, and a Calving Klein zip-up cardigan. He gave me a Camelbak water bottle, two tickets to see Jack’s Mannequin at the Norva in March, and a beautiful white gold open heart pendant necklace w/a diamond in it. I flew home on the 23rd and went shopping w/my dad all afternoon. I spent Christmas Eve at my parents’ house with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my grandparents, Joelle, Cricky, Aunt Angel, Uncle Cricket and Uncle Johnny. My mom and I baked a chocolate peppermint cake Christmas Eve morning, which we brought around with us and ate for dessert for three days! On Christmas morning, Stephen and I opened presents under the tree. I got pajamas from Anthropologie, a navy blue jacket from Nordstrom, lots of awesome makeup from Sephora, Bumble and bumble shampoo and conditioner, an Entertainment book, a Pampered Chef pan and spatula, and lots of other great stuff. We drove up to Uncle Vinnie’s and Aunt Debbie’s for appetizers, and then went to Aunt Debbie’s and Uncle Sal’s to hang out with Christina and Rosie and have dinner. On the 26th, I had breakfast with Kristy at Perkins, went to Freehold Mall with my mom, and then we went to Uncle Bobby and Aunt Gail’s house to spend time with my dad’s side of the family. I flew back to VB on the 27th and slept all day because I was so tired from my hectic trip!

Did you fall in love in 2009? Nope – still in love w/the person from 2008. Duh. 🙂

How many one-night stands? 0

Who were your best friends? Kristy, Kelley (for a few months), Kerri, John, Heather

What thing did you do that was meaningful to others? I worked with Kristy’s bridesmaids to plan her the best wedding ever! When Kelley moved here at the beginning of the year, I introduced her to a bunch of people and helped her find a place to live. I let Kerri stay with me for a few weeks while she was looking for a job. I helped Kristen set up her website and a Cause on Facebook for her non-profit organization, The Kevin Patrick Hands to Angels Foundation. I also threw a few sweet parties at John’s house, and I had the balls to tell a good friend that her boyfriend was cheating on her…even though I knew it would cost me our friendship.
