Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was very, very bored at work. She was cluelessly working on three things at once, but none of them were very challenging or exciting. She drank a little too much coffee, so she was a little restless. On her cubicle wall, there was a picture of her next to the “Welcome to New Mexico – Land of Enchantment” sign that kept luring her eyes away from the computer screen and her mind into space-out mode.
All of a sudden, there was a loud crash behind her in the copy room. Someone had knocked over the color printer sending project sheets and proposal pages flying everywhere! She turned and stared in joyous shock when she saw Adam, the lead singer of Maroon 5, standing amidst a ream of heavy laser paper fluttering to the ground.
When the pages settled, he moved towards her desk.
“Hey gorgeous,” he said. “Let’s go.”
“Oh my god,” she mumbled. She frantically jumped from her chair and snatched up her Kenneth Cole purse and her Tumi backpack and her Gucci sunglasses.
Adam gave her an odd look. “How does a part-time Marketing Assistant afford all that designer shit?”
“What? Do you have to ruin the moment like that?” she asked.
“Whatever, sorry.” He grabbed her hand and they bolted toward the elevator.
“Shouldn’t we be going down?” she asked.
“Shh. Relax, baby. Just wait.”
They took the elevator to the top floor and the stairs up to the roof. For once, the sun was shining in Norfolk. As she fumbled with her sunglasses case, she heard a loud noise. She looked up and dropped her sunglasses in awe as she saw the Maroon 5 helicopter landing on the roof!
“Klutz,” Adam teased. “You better pick those up. Let’s go.”
“Can we go to New Mexico?” she pleaded.
“The Land of Enchantment? That’s exactly where we can go,” he replied.
They jumped into the helicopter and headed west and she never went back to work again.
Oh, and they made out on the helicopter the whole way to Las Cruces.
