Finish This…#19: A lesson, exercise, a good hair day, and being grateful.

Oh, remember this? Yeah, the link-up I “host” every week with Nicole (Three 31), Jen (The Arizona Russums), and Becky (The Java Mama)? You know. The one I haven’t posted in 12 weeks. *sigh*

Well, you know the drill. If you’re a blogger, join in! Click here to add your post and read other bloggers’ Finish This… posts.

Okay, here goes Week 19.

1. A lesson I learned from my mom …
…is to get up early on vacations. It’s how we managed to hike so many trails, visit so many national parks, taste so many delicious foods, enjoy so many hours on the beach, photograph so many sunsets, catch so many waves, drink so many pineapple juices, and experience so many more cool things on our trip to Hawaii. Relaxing is overrated. I can relax on the beach at home. 🙂

2. To burn calories, I …
…run, ride my bike, or walk. Unless I’m working too much, in which case I just eat more, which kind of defeats the purpose.

3. My best hair day was …
…either this day or this day or this day. Or maybe this one.

4. I am grateful for …
…beach days and boat drinks and living near the ocean, family and friends and working on a cool project, gluten-free pasta, Kona coffee, good music, colorful art and photographs, white sneakers, comfy jeans, road trips, sunglasses, noise-canceling headphones, and being right more than I’m wrong.

You and I, and our mothers, are so alike. I’ve never been on any vacation where I slept in or wasted the day away in bed. Instead, we’re up before dawn and out and about seeing the sights or walking the shoreline or whatever there is to do/see/experience. I can sleep when I’m dead! Which reminds me, I need to play the lottery and win a gabillion dollars, buy a jet, and fly to Virginia Beach so I can relax on YOUR home beach. Just saying. Oh, and welcome back to Finish This. Hugs! 🙂
