Thanksgiving Update

Me, this morning: “I am never drinking again. Again.”

Me, at 9:39 p.m.: “Leggett’s? Sure! I’ll be there in a half hour!”

After I rolled out of bed a 12:09 p.m., barely made it through Thanksgiving dinner, rolled out of bed again at 6:12 p.m. and went to see the Bridget Jones movie, I was ready to go to the bar again. My tolerance and ability to drink in excess have dwindled since college, but at least my recovery time is improving. I had a lovely night catching up with Jenni and Mary Jane, and we even stopped at Dunkin’ Donuts on the way home.

It was a nice Thanksgiving. I didn’t even eat too many marshmallows this year.

Have you ever heard of Power Hour? I’m sure you have. Apparently the concept is for a bunch of people to gather up a whole bunch of alcohol and shot glasses, then get together and, in unison, shoot an ounce of beer every minute for a whole hour. lol Then there’s the 100-minute version, too. That’s what everyone here is doing now. 😛 I, on the other hand, just got back from a run with my Sergeant. 🙂
Do you ever try to get up early in the morning while it’s still dark and before you do anything else — except maybe pee — run? Or go at night after work when you’re all wound up and stressed out? Doesn’t it feel great? 🙂

Over the summer, I used to to go run at 2:30 a.m. after work, after a few drinks. Everyone thought I was crazy, but it was the only time I had to go. I used to run down Troy Drive and do a few laps around the Kmart parking lot — it was lit up, so I could see!
I used to get up before dawn and ride my bike while my dad ran — a loooooong time ago. Sometimes I get up and run before work now, but I don’t work until 10, so I definitely don’t have to run before it’s light out.
I must say, though, running at 2:30 a.m. was sort of fun. I always had a good run that late at night — partly because I was tipsy and partly because I wanted to run fast and get it over with and go to bed. =)

I love Leggett’s. We used to go there after company volleyball practice and I could stumble my drunk self a few blocks up the road to my parents house
