2003

I suppose this questionnaire is supposed to sum up my year. I’m afraid there’s much more to it than this, though…

What did you do in 2003 that you’d never done before? Started running almost every day

 Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I did, and I will.

 Did anyone close to you give birth? No

 Did anyone close to you die? No

What countries did you visit? A few little Caribbean ones on a cruise in March

What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? My own apartment

What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory? July 3rd

What was your biggest achievement of the year? The PR Case Studies campaign proposal for the Art Museum of Western Virginia/graduating college

What was your biggest failure? Forgetting to late-drop Calculus, therefore, failing it – obviously.

 Did you suffer illness or injury? Ear infections, sprained finger, ear infections, ear infections

What was the best thing you bought? Flat-screen monitor

Whose behavior merited celebration? My three roommates for being the best friends ever

Where did most of your money go? Clothes

What did you get really, really, really excited about? Applying to Navy OCS

What song will always remind you of 2003? King of Wishful Thinking – Go West

Compared to this time last year, are you:
      Happier or sadder? Happier

What do you wish you’d done more of? Flirting

What do you wish you’d done less of? Crying

How will you be spending Christmas? Same as always

Did you fall in love in 2003? No

Who were your best friends? Andrea, Jess, Katie, Kristy

What thing did you do that was meaningful to others? Memorized my part as G.T.B. for the Chi Omega Initiation Ceremony

What was your favorite TV program? American Dreams, JAG, The OC, Dawson’s Creek, The Bachelorette (on the big screen @ the Chi-O house)

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Hate, no, but, I have lost respect for several people that I considered great friends this time last year.

What was the best book you read? Hawaii by James Michener

What was your greatest musical discovery? Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

What did you want and get? Gamecube and Animal Crossing

What did you want and not get? A trip to Hawaii

What was your favorite film of this year? Pirates of the Caribbean

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 22, ate dinner @ Beamer’s w/my favorite sisters and Ryan, went downtown to Hokie House, TOTS, and probably more bars

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? The Hokies winning all their games and heading to the Sugar Bowl

What kept you sane? January – June: Andrea, Hilary, Brad  June – December: Kristy, running, and TV

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Julia Stiles (as always), Josh Duhamal

What political issue stirred you the most? The war, obviously, just like everyone else

Who did you miss? January – May: Mike May – December: Andrea, Katie, Jess, Jenn, Sara, Ryan, Hilary, Brad, all my sisters and friends from school

Who was the best new person you met this year? Brad Hockenberry – in PR Case Studies

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003: 1. You can’t trust everyone, you can’t fix everything, you can’t go everywhere, but you can find happiness with what you have.  2. If you want to do something, do it.  It doesn’t matter what people say or whether or not they expect it of you or even if they think you’ll succeed.  What matters is what you think, and that’s all. 3. Managing a restaurant, even a small one, is not as easy as it looks, but it is as fun.
